Job Description: The Lead Therapist works in coordination with the Rehab Director for the day to day operations of the discipline specific department to ensure that patients receive appropriate medical treatment, therapy and training services. . The role is 50% management and 50% direct patient care. The Lead Therapist is responsible for communicating concerns and needs to deliver discipline specific therapy in a manner that addresses the needs of clients and ensures compliance with regulations.
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of Occupational, Physical or Speech Therapy, Associate Degree applicants considered based on experience.
Current license/registration in the state of Minnesota. Managerial experience in post acute care preferred.
Basic Function: Daily leadership of the discipline team. Caseload review and management. Work closely with Coordinator and staff on patient scheduling. Work with Coordinator in Medicare Practice management and direction of treatment planning for both revenue enhancement and best possible patient outcomes. Program development implementation monitoring with Rehab QA/QI Manager. Clinical teaching of treatment techniques. Documentation review to assure compliance and skilled content Coordinate discipline discharge planning and communication- assure all areas have been addressed and follow up care has been appropriately established and communicated. Responds to clinician questions and assists with problem-solving Active role in stand up meetings. Oversee work completion, allocation, training and problem resolution with discipline therapy staff. Conduct discipline personnel performance reviews
